SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say a man was stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver when he tried to stop a car break-in in Salt Lake City early Sunday morning.

Authorities say the man was using a screwdriver to try and break into a car when a neighbor came out of his house and told the man to leave.

Instead, he stabbed the resident in the neck and drove away, possibly in a black Dodge pickup truck.

The neighbor was taken to a hospital.
