LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Travis Hammonds scored 12 points off the bench and led four players in double figures as Long Beach State chalked up its fifth-straight conference win, beating Hawaii 65-50 on Saturday night.

David Samuels finished with 11 points and nine rebounds for the 49ers (12-11, 6-1 Big West Conference). Tyler Lamb and Deontae North scored 10 points apiece. The team hit 41.9 percent from the field overall — including 6 of 18 (33.3 percent) from distance — and 76.7 percent from the free throw line.

The Rainbow Warriors (15-8, 3-4) had a 27-26 advantage at the break but fell behind early in the second half. Hawaii was just 34.5 percent from the field overall and 41.2 percent from the line.

Stefan Jankovic scored 13 points for the Rainbow Warriors. Mike Thomas added eight points and led the team with 10 rebounds.
