BOSTON (AP) — Zach Stahl matched his career high with 19 points and Scott Eatherton added 16 — each on 8 of 9 shooting — as Northeastern hit a scorching 28 of 47 shots (60 percent) to defeat Elon 80-61 on Saturday night.
Devon Begley and Quincy Ford each scored 12 for Northeastern (15-8, 7-3 Colonial Athletic) with Ford sinking 9 of 10 foul shots. Ford scored his 1,000th career point in the first half. The Huskies were making 68 percent of their shots late in the second half.
Elon (11-12, 3-7), which joined the Colonial Athletic Association this season, was led by 16 points from Elijah Bryant in its first meeting with Northeastern.
The Huskies pulled away to a 40-25 lead at halftime and extended that to 78-51 on a Begley 3-pointer with 4:02 to play.
