GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) — Indian River School District is hosting its first teacher's recruitment fair in February as the district continues to grow rapidly.
The Daily Times (http://delmarvane.ws/1zrQzuA ) reports Indian River will be recruiting candidates Feb. 21 in Ocean City, Maryland. The fair will also include other districts looking to match teachers with vacancies on the Delmarva.
Superintendent Susan Bunting says the district is looking for good candidates for future positions. The district's elementary schools have expanded in size and in the number of students. Expansion projects are being completed at three schools early this year.
According to the Delaware Department of Education, the number of students in first through fourth grades in Indian River has increased 22 percent since 2008. Overall enrollment increased 16 percent. The school district is also growing more diverse.
