This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Adam Griffith basically grew up in the garage. While he was still in high school, he worked for his grandfather's RV/trailer shop and garage until he took over the business four years ago.

Today, Pitts Auto provides auto body and collision repair work. The Tooele shop also re-builds motorcycles and custom bikes and provides custom paint jobs. Adam says custom painting accounts for the majority of the work his shop provides.

Adam says his grandfather always enjoyed working on cars and for most of his life, he provided auto body work as a side business out of his home. In 1978, he decided Tooele was ready for a full shop and opened Pitts Auto. The shop originally did work on RVs, including motor homes and trailers, but Adam has changed the focus to concentrate on auto body work and custom paint jobs.

About five years ago Adam decided he wanted to build a motorcycle even though he didn't have any prior experience working on motorcycles. The first bike he built was a 750 Honda chopper. Now 15-20 custom bikes later, he has discovered that custom building and refurbishing motorcycles is his passion. As a side business to Pitts Auto, Adam operates APG Customs to build the motorcycles.

Adam intends to continue running the garage in much the same way he always has. A high level of customer service, which includes working one on one with each customer to make sure his or her needs are met, is a key aspect of the business. Adam would also like to provide more collision repair work for insurance companies.

Adam loves the versatile nature of both Pitts Auto and APG Customs because he can provide a broad range of services. The experience of creating something unique and original with a custom paint job can't be matched, he says.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
