CHICAGO (AP) — Jozy Altidore has been added to the U.S. training camp roster before exhibitions against Chile and Panama, and defender Brad Evans has been dropped because of tendinitis in his left knee.

Altidore's addition was announced by coach Jurgen Klinsmann on Friday, just after the forward transferred to Major League Soccer and Toronto from Sunderland of England's Premier League.

Altidore joins Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley and Jermaine Jones, giving the U.S. eight veterans from last year's World Cup roster. The training camp group also includes 15 players who have never appeared for the national team.

Dallas defender Matt Hedges was added Thursday in anticipation of Evans leaving camp.
