SALT LAKE CITY — Former BYU post Brandon Davies has signed a contract with the Euroleague basketball team Elan Chalon in France, according to the French newspaper Le Journal de Saône-et-Loire.
Davies was waived by the Brooklyn Nets last Tuesday after signing a non-guaranteed contract that would have become guaranteed Jan. 10.
The Provo High grad averaged 3.7 points and 2.5 rebounds in a year and a half in the NBA, most of the time with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Elan Chalon, which plays in France's Pro A league, is looking to replace power forward Eric Dawson, who hasn't played since November.
The Euroleague squad is also home to Loyola Marymount guard Anthony Ireland, who played against Davies while the two were in college. Ireland averages 10.3 points and a team-high 3.7 assists for Elan Chalon.
