SEATTLE (AP) — Former NBA player Robert Swift has pleaded not guilty to a charge of possessing a sawed-off shotgun.
The King County, Washington, prosecutor's office said Monday he remains in jail with bail set at $20,000.
Swift was arrested last Tuesday along with another man suspected of attempting to break into a home in Gold Bar.
Swift was wanted for failing to show at a court hearing in November involving a shotgun found in October in a Kirkland home where he was living. His roommate was charged with drug offenses.
The 7-foot-1 Swift was selected by the Sonics with the 12th pick in the 2004 NBA draft. Knee injuries shortened his career, and he was cut by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2009. The Seattle Times reported he played in 97 games and earned about $10 million.
