LORMAN, Miss. (AP) — Leantwan Luckett made 14 of 18 free throws and finished with 26 points as Alcorn State beat Prairie View 68-62 on Monday night to break its eight-game losing streak.

It was the second win of the season for Alcorn State (2-12, 1-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) and its first over a Division I opponent after beating NAIA Dillard 95-73 on Nov. 24.

Marquis Vance had 18 points with nine rebounds for Alcorn State and Michael Davis added 10. Alcorn State was just 1 of 14 from 3-point range but hit 25 of 37 free throws (67.6 percent) compared to 8 of 12 for Prairie View.

Karim York scored 15 points for Prairie View (2-13, 0-2). John Brisco had 14 and Montrael Scott added 10. The Panthers were 4 of 18 from beyond the arc.
