ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Worth Smith continued his strong comeback after missing 10 games, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for his fourth career double-double in Navy's 70-47 victory over Loyola (Maryland) on Wednesday.

Tilman Dunbar added 13 points for the Midshipmen (5-8, 1-0 Patriot), who won their conference opener for the first time since 2009-10. Smith, who dislocated a kneecap in Navy's season opener, made his second start since the injury after putting up 20 points and nine rebounds in a victory over Towson on Dec. 22.

Tyler Hubbard scored all 16 of his points for Loyola (4-8, 0-1) in the first half that ended with the Greyhounds trailing 37-28. Eric Laster added 12 points.

Smith had four points and Will Kelly two blocks and a dunk in an 8-0 run that put Navy up 52-35 with 13:40 left.

Navy scored 13 points off turnovers but didn't give up any off its five miscues.
