LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority says 3.3 million people visited in November as the destination was well on its way to breaking an all-time record in mid-December with its 40 millionth visitor of the year.
The tourism agency released monthly statistics Tuesday showing tourists spent more on their stays, $113.51 was the average daily rate, and filled slightly more rooms, 83.7 percent, compared to a year ago.
The agency says traffic on major highways and Interstate 15 at the Nevada and California border also grew.
Downtown Las Vegas hotels saw declines in both the average daily rate and the revenue earned per room.
Convention attendance dropped 10.4 percent. Two groups — International Sanitary Supply Association and International Pool & Spa —didn't hold their conventions in Vegas this year.
