LAS VEGAS (AP) — It will take a lot more than snow and cold temperatures to stop the New Year's Eve partying in Las Vegas. The National Weather Service says there's a chance of snow flurries on the Las Vegas Strip tomorrow night. Organizers of the fireworks show assure that the show will go on, with or without snow.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — California public health officials have issued an alert after finding "very strong evidence" that an adult film actor became infected with HIV as a result of unprotected sex on film shoot in Nevada. The Department of Public Health alert states a male actor tested positive for HIV after engaging in unprotected sex with several other male actors during two separate film shoots.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are releasing more details of a pre-dawn drugstore robbery on Friday. Police say the suspect, 25-year-old Jin Ackerman was a former employee of the Walgreens store and fatally shot clerk Antonio Isnit because Isnit knew him. Ackerman is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Washoe County commissioners are scheduled to vote today to fill a vacancy left when a Nevada Assemblyman took a spot on the Reno City Council. Democrat David Bobzien was appointed to the council earlier this month. He filled a vacancy left when councilmember Hillary Schieve was elected mayor.
