LONDON (AP) — Church of England officials say Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has pneumonia.

Officials said Friday that Welby is resting at home. He had earlier cancelled his Christmas Day sermon about the true meaning of the holiday because of the illness and instead posted his sermon on the Internet.

A separate homily was delivered by Dean of Canterbury Robert Willis.

Lambeth Palace officials thanked the public for thoughts and prayers on Welby's behalf.
