LAS VEGAS (AP) — Trial has been postponed pending a federal judge's ruling on whether the FBI improperly entered Las Vegas Strip hotel suites without a warrant before arresting and accusing a Malaysian businessman and his son of illegal Internet gambling. Court records show a Jan. 12 trial date was vacated Monday for Wei Seng "Paul" Phua and his son, Darren Wai Kit Phua. No new date was immediately set.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two women are dead and five people were hurt including a 1-year-old in a two-vehicle crash late Christmas Eve at a northwest Las Vegas intersection. Las Vegas police say an 81-year-old woman and a 63-year-old woman were killed when a car sped through a red light and struck their SUV. The driver of the car and a passenger were also hospitalized.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a man was shot in the leg by a security guard during a Christmas morning scuffle at a downtown Las Vegas motel. Las Vegas police tell KTNV-TV that the man tried to take the guard's stun gun before he was shot. The wounded man is expected to recover. No charges have been filed.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful organization has come up with a unique way to dispose of old Christmas trees. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports they've teamed up with a goat farmer to have the goats eat the needles off the trees. They say the needles are good for the goats and it's a good way to recycle the trees and reduce the fire hazard.
