LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a man was wounded in the leg by an armed security guard during a Christmas morning scuffle at a downtown Las Vegas motel.
Las Vegas police Lt. Sean Toman tells KTNV-TV (http://bit.ly/1wL7bhg ) the shooting happened about 6 a.m. Thursday at a motel on Las Vegas Boulevard between St. Louis and Sahara avenues.
Police responding to a report of an altercation were told the wounded man tried to take the security guard's Taser stun gun before the guard opened fire with a handgun.
Neither the wounded man nor the guard was identified by name.
Toman says the wounded man was taken to University Medical Center with an injury that didn't appear to be life-threatening.
It wasn't immediately clear if he or the guard would face criminal charges.
