SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say they've arrested a man suspected of shooting at a Utah state trooper last week.

The Utah Highway Patrol said in a statement Tuesday that 25-year-old Damien Williams was arrested after a police chase that ended with his car crashing into three other vehicles. No one was hurt in the crash, and police took all four people in the car into custody.

Authorities say Williams' three friends cooperated with police, telling them he bragged about shooting at the officer.

Williams was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of attempted aggravated murder, evading police and other charges.

No attorney was listed for Williams in court records Tuesday.

The shot fired from a passing car Friday missed the trooper trying to arrest a woman near Interstate 215.
