COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — The daughter of a man rescued by two bystanders from his submerged car in an Idaho lake says her family is grateful to the two "Christmas angels."
Ronda Lyons of Seattle tells the Coeur d'Alene Press (http://is.gd/5hn25J ) that her father, 66-year-old Dan Lyons of Coeur d'Alene, was unconscious when he was pulled Saturday from Lake Coeur d'Alene. He was hospitalized in critical condition but doctors have told her they expect a full recovery.
KREM-TV reports (http://is.gd/mF5FM3) Lyons' family says the two bystanders swung into action after seeing Lyons' car sink in seven feet of water. They broke a window and used a knife to free Lyons from his seat belt, then dragged him to shore.
The men declined to talk with KREM on Monday. The station says one is from the Coeur d'Alene area. The other was passing through Kootenai County to visit family in Montana.
Says Ronda Lyons, "Everything that we have, we owe to them."
