ELKO, Nev. (AP) — More than a dozen Nevada mine workers are safe after they spent a rainy night in their trucks when a slide blocked the exit road from the bottom of an open pit gold mine. A Barrick Gold Corp. spokesman confirmed that all 14 miners were rescued and no one was hurt after a wall failed yesterday afternoon at the Bald Mountain mine about 70 miles southeast of Elko.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A presentation of replicas of a 16,000-year-old Colombian mammoth tooth helped mark the dedication of a new national monument in a fossil-rich area at the northern edge of the Las Vegas valley. Congress designated the new national monument earlier this month after a decades-long campaign focused on the site's historical significance and its potential as a tourist attraction.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas say as many as two people may have been wounded and at least one armed assailant is sought after a shooting at an apartment complex near the Las Vegas Convention Center. Investigators are still trying to determine what prompted the gunfire and whether anyone else was hurt. Two people were taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Sibling singers Donny and Marie Osmond will be singing at the Flamingo Las Vegas at least through the end of 2015. Caesars Entertainment Corp. announced that the duo has signed on to keep performing at the hotel-casino through the end of next year.
