LAS VEGAS (AP) — A collision between a motorcycle and car in Las Vegas has killed two 27-year-old men and injured an infant. Police say the motorcycle was northbound on South Valley View Boulevard on Saturday afternoon when it struck a car turning left at an intersection. The drivers of both, Michael Savery and Ederabo Jaramillo-Pedrasa, were pronounced dead.
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) — Seven puppies left for dead in a trash bin have found permanent homes after being nursed back to health by volunteers at a Lake Tahoe facility. Melissa Shaw of the Pet Network Humane Society in Incline Village says the pups were adopted Thursday. The puppies were discovered Oct. 29 in a trash bin behind a Radio Shack in Susanville, California.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada lawmaker is proposing legislation to allow stand-alone bars to permit dogs to enter at the discretion of an establishment's owner. Sen. James Settelmeyer says the bill being drafted for the 2015 Legislature was suggested by a constituent in Virginia City, about 20 miles southeast of Reno. Some taverns there seem to play favorites when it comes to allowing dogs in with paying customers.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Images of Heidi Klum will appear in an electronics company's ads inside McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas after all. Airport spokeswoman Christine Crews says the company that manages indoor advertising at the airport rejected an initial set of Sharper Image's black-and-white shots featuring the scantily clad model. But Crews says Sharper Image's ad firm submitted amended ads all five were approved.
