TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Chris Oliver scored 15 points from the bench and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Eastern Illinois to a 60-56 win over Indiana State on Saturday.
Trae Anderson added 14 points and five rebounds for the Panthers (5-6). Cornell Johnston had 11 points. The team sank 55.6 percent from the field and 75 percent from the line.
Eastern Illinois went ahead 18-9 midway through the first period during a seven-minute Indiana State drought and was up 20-17 at the break.
The teams kept it close through the second half with Indiana State pulling to within one, 54-53 on a Devonte Brown jumper with 53 seconds to play. Johnston answered for Eastern Illinois with a layup and Oliver and Anderson combined for 4 of 4 from the line to finish and seal the Panthers' win.
Justin Grant led the Sycamores (4-7) with 14 points and six rebounds.
