Local Liberians to pray for end of Ebola outbreak

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Local Liberians are holding a prayer service to pray for an end to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

The service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Providence.

The event is being sponsored by the Liberian Community Association of Rhode Island, Rhode Island State Council of Churches, Liberian Ministerial Alliance and Liberian churches in Rhode Island.

They are inviting all Liberians, West Africans and friends of Liberia and West Africa to attend, in a show of unity.

Ebola has infected more than 17,000 people in West Africa and killed more than 6,000 people.
