SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The New England Revolution's winless streak reached seven games with a 0-0 tie against Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
Real Salt Lake (3-7-3) ended a two-game losing streak.
Coach John Ellinger missed the game while serving a one-game suspension for criticizing an MLS official after a loss last week at Houston. Ellinger watched the game from a luxury box while assistant Peter Mellor coached the team.
Matt Reis had three saves for the Revolution (3-4-6), while Scott Garlick needed to stop just one shot for Real Salt Lake.
Jeff Cunningham nearly gave Real lead in the 80th minute, but his shot on a breakaway hit off the crossbar. He also had a good scoring opportunity in the 18th minute, but whiffed from six yards away in front of an empty goal on a centering pass from Chris Klein.
