WASHINGTON (AP) — Rolling Stone is clarifying its apology over a story about a female student who alleged she was gang-raped at a University of Virginia fraternity. It now says mistakes in the story were its fault, not the alleged victim's. The original note to readers, issued Friday, said its trust in the alleged victim was misplaced and that struck some critics as blaming the victim.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hugh Hefner says he "would never tolerate" the kind of abusive behavior Bill Cosby is being accused of. The Playboy mogul says he considers Cosby a good friend and "the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening." Cosby is facing allegations that he sexually assaulted more than a dozen women, one of them at the Playboy mansion when she was 15.

WASHINGTON (AP) — When it comes to problems of racism and bias, President Barack Obama says it's going to take time and vigilance to tackle them because they're "deeply rooted." But he says gains have been made. Obama tells BET he has told youth civil rights activists that as painful as some recent incidents have been they can't equate what's happening now with what was happening 50 years ago.

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers says releasing a 480-page report on the use of torture by the CIA a decade ago will cause violence and deaths abroad. He tells CNN it will be used by extremists to incite violence. Dianne Feinstein, who chairs the Senate intelligence panel, disagrees. She tells the Los Angeles Times it needs to be made public.

NEW YORK (AP) — Britain's Prince William and his wife, Kate, are on their first official visit to the United States. They arrived in New York City tonight to a throng of media and admirers.
