HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Ameen Tanksley hit every shot he took from the field Tuesday night, including five 3-pointers, to score a career-high 30 points as Hofstra defeated Norfolk State 88-74.

Hofstra (5-2) suited just seven players and they all scored. Juan'ya Green added 18 points with eight assists and four steals, Brian Bernardi had 17 points and Dion Nesmith 10.

Tanksley, however, has been bringing the fire. He is 20-25 from 3-point range in the Pride's last four games. The spark has Hofstra off to its best seven-game start since the 2009-10 team was 6-1.

RaShid Gaston was right with Tanksley, scoring 28 points for Norfolk State (4-4) on 12 of 15 shooting. He attempted no 3s.

Tanksley scored 17 points with four of his 3-pointers en route to a 43-40 halftime lead. Hofstra broke away with a 9-0 run — Tanksley adding seven and Bernardi two.
