NEW YORK (AP) — D'Angelo Harrison scored 31 points and grabbed 17 rebounds and St. John's came from behind to beat Division II Franklin Pierce 94-81 Monday night.
Rysheed Jordan scored 19 and had eight rebounds, Phil Greene IV scored 18, and the Red Storm (2-0) outrebounded the Ravens 49-26.
Harrison now has 1,648 career points and is the ninth highest-scoring player in the St. John's program history. He scored 10 points in St. John's season-opening 77-58 win over NJIT last Friday.
Ryen Vilmont led Franklin Pierce with 29 points and 10 rebounds, Paul Becklens scored 16 and Donte Gittens added 10.
Vilmont hit three straight 3-pointers and a jumper in Franklin Pierce's 11-4 run to open the game and the Ravens led 50-43 at halftime.
St. John's opened the second half with 21 unanswered points, including two of Harrison's five 3-pointers, then pulled away on a 9-3 run.
