HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Pearl River Community College officials say they're planning to use about 10 acres of land near the Forrest County Center to address a need for more parking.

PRCC President William Lewis tells the Hattiesburg American (http://hatne.ws/1y8w7x1 ) that Albert & Associates Architects is developing a master plan for the land, which is also expected to include academic and assembly space. Lewis says the school bought the land on U.S. 49 about a year ago for about $900,000. Lewis school officials are now working to secure funding for the project.

Vice President for Forrest County Operations, Cecil Burt, says parking has been problematic at the commuter campus, which has been growing for years.
