Boise State slips past Loyola Marymount 77-69

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mikey Thompson and Nick Duncan scored 15 points apiece to lead Boise State to a 77-69 win over host Loyola Marymount in the LMU Classic on Saturday night.

Boise State (2-0) pulled away late in the second half with a 12-0 run capped by a Derrick Marks 3-pointer that made it 71-61 with 1:28 to go. Marks then went 6 for 6 from the free throw line to cement the win.

Duncan's points all came from beyond the arc on 5-for-9 shooting, while Thompson shot 6 for 8 from the field. Marks finished with 11 points, six assists and three rebounds.

Loyola Marymount (1-1) trailed by as many as six points in the first half but took a 35-31 advantage into the break.

Evan Payne led the Lions with 22 points and five assists, while Godwin Okonji added 15 points and had 10 rebounds.
