STANFORD, Calif. — The No. 23 Utah Utes needed two touchdowns in double overtime to get past a stout Stanford defense, winning 20-17 on the road.

Although Utah's offense had little production for most of regulation, it was in both overtimes where the offense shined, first with a Travis Wilson 25-yard touchdown pass to Kaelin Clay to give the Utes a 14-7 lead.

I called that. Kaelin Clay TD… actually, no. But I feel saying I did. — Ted Miller (@TedMillerRK) November 16, 2014

And naturally, on the first play of overtime, Kaelin Clay catches a 25 yard TD. Yes, that Clay who dropped the ball vs. Oregon. — Bryan Fischer (@BryanDFischer) November 16, 2014

Stanford would go on to answer with a touchdown of its own, forcing a second overtime. In the second overtime, Utah held Stanford to a 51-yard field goal attempt, which was easily made.

But the Utah offense was resilient and moved the ball down field behind a key Westlee Tonga first down, Devontae Booker sprint to the 2-yard line and a 2-yard touchdown pass from Wilson to Kenneth Scott in the end zone for the win.

Despite the struggles on offense for much of the game, Utah's defense, lead by senior Nate Orchard, kept the Cardinal from moving the ball. Utah finished the game with four sacks, all which had Orchard involved.

But it was punter Tom Hackett that won the field-positioning battle, keeping Stanford deep within Utah's territory for much of the game with his precision kicks.
