BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — The Montana Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in Bozeman has regained the full accreditation it lost in 2003.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/10RlaV9 ) the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians granted the lab full accreditation, which lasts through 2015.
The Department of Livestock lab helps veterinarians, ranchers and state wildlife officials by running tests to diagnose animal diseases.
Its status was downgraded to provisional in 2003 and remained there after inspectors found shortcomings in funding, then facility capabilities and finally quality management.
Lab director Bill Layton says continued funding will be needed for the lab to maintain its accreditation.
