EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State freshman Javon Bess is expected to miss at least a month with a right foot injury.
The school says Bess will have surgery on Tuesday to repair the fifth metatarsal. The 6-foot-5 Bess went to Gahanna Lincoln High School in Ohio.
Michigan State opens the 2014-15 season at Navy on Nov. 14.
