MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Another student wounded in Friday's shooting at a Washington state high school has died. Hospital officials say 14-year-old Gia Soriano died Sunday night. Another girl was killed during the shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School before freshman and shooter Jaylen Fryberg died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Three other students remain hospitalized. Two of them are in critical condition.

NEW YORK (AP) — The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases says the 21-day quarantining of medical workers returning from West Africa is unnecessary and could discourage volunteers from traveling to the infected areas. The governors of New York and New Jersey have issued separate mandatory quarantine programs in their states for medical workers and others who've had contact with Ebola victims in West Africa. New Jersey nurse Kaci Hickox, who's been forcibly quarantined after returning from Sierra Leone, tells CNN that her isolation is "inhumane."

UNDATED (AP) — Dozens of residents in a rural area of Hawaii have been placed on alert as flowing lava from an erupting volcano continues to advance. Authorities say lava flow on the Big Island of Hawaii is moving at the rate of about 10 to 15 yards an hour. Residents in one home say they can see the lava flow from their balcony. Residents in the flow path have been told to complete all necessary preparations by Tuesday for a possible evacuation.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The actress who played Mr. Kotter's wife on the 1970s sitcom "Welcome Back, Kotter," has died at age 66. Her sister says Marcia Strassman died at her home in Sherman Oaks, California, Friday, after fighting breast cancer. Strassman's biggest film success was in the Disney hit "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" and its sequel, "Honey I Blew Up The Kid."

EUREKA, Calif. (AP) — A man is facing charges in Northern California after police say he robbed a gas station, only to return hours later to give the money back and apologize. Twenty-three-year-old Cyle Warren Abbot Jr. told police he needed money to leave town for a fresh start, but realized his mistake. He's being held on $50,000 bail.
