LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a Henderson police officer is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges including driving under the influence after he was arrested driving the wrong way on a northwest Las Vegas freeway.

Joseph Lawrance was being held Thursday at the Clark County jail pending an initial court appearance on charges also including reckless driving, having an open alcohol container and prescription medication in his vehicle, having a gun while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and making false statements to a public officer.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson says the 31-year-old Lawrance was arrested a little before 1 a.m. Thursday after callers reported seeing a Toyota Tundra pickup driving the wrong way on U.S. 95 near Durango Drive.

Hixson says no crashes or injuries were reported.
