LAS VEGAS (AP) — A veteran Las Vegas police officer has been suspended from the job and arrested on felony child pornography charges. Records show that 37-year-old James Henry surrendered today at the Clark County jail, where he's being held without bail. He was also ordered to have no contact with an alleged victim.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a Henderson police officer is facing multiple charges after he was arrested driving the wrong way on a northwest Las Vegas freeway. Joseph Lawrance is being held at the Clark County jail pending an initial court appearance. The Nevada Highway Patrol says there were no crashes or injuries in the incident this morning.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The race for Nevada Attorney General is most expensive among statewide races this year. The Center for Public Integrity says commercials in the race between Democrat Ross Miller and Republican Adam Laxalt have aired about 7,300 times. The candidates and their supporters have spent $3.7 million in airtime, split roughly even between Miller and Laxalt.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) — The owner of a South Lake Tahoe resort has been fined $10,000 for illegally dumping up to 20,000 gallons of chlorinated pool water. California state environmental regulators launched an investigation after the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort reported the June 25 incident near Ski Run Boulevard. An attorney for the resort told the Tahoe Daily Tribune he felt the punishment was fair.
