LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — Chicago Bears left tackle Jermon Bushrod suffered a knee injury in practice, throwing his status for this week's game at Carolina into question.

Coach Marc Trestman wouldn't say how the injury happened on Wednesday, other than Bushrod fell and it was an accident. He said he wasn't sure how severe the injury is.

Bushrod's injury comes as center Roberto Garza and left guard Matt Slauson appear close to returning. They have been sidelined by ankle injuries since the season opener.

If Bushrod can't play, Michael Ola could move to left tackle after filling in for Slauson.

Defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (concussion) sat out Thursday. He still has to pass some tests to be cleared.
