Rhode Island kicks off flu vaccination campaign

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island is kicking off its flu vaccination campaign.

The campaign begins Wednesday with an event at the State House. Stephanie Chafee, Rhode Island's first lady and a registered nurse, and health officials including state Director of Health Michael Fine are scheduled to speak about the importance of flu shots.

Providence College men's basketball coach Ed Cooley plans to attend. Candidates for statewide office were also invited.
