TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — University of Alabama officials say a 19-year-old student accused of making a terroristic threat has been arrested.

University spokesman Chris Bryant said in a statement Tuesday that Daniel Evan Simmons was arrested by university police after an investigation into alarming messages that were sent the morning of Sept. 23.

Bryant says Simmons is in the Tuscaloosa County Jail and is being held on $5,000 bond.

Bryant says university police are investigating the post and Simmons has been suspended. It's unclear if Simmons has an attorney and details on the nature of the alleged threat weren't immediately available.
