LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials say a 34-year-old state prison inmate has died after spending two weeks in a Las Vegas hospital.

Nevada Department of Corrections officials say Jason P. Risner died Saturday of a chronic medical condition at Valley Hospital.

Risner had been in prison since Aug. 27, after being sentenced in Clark County District Court to 12 to 30 months for his guilty plea to grand larceny.

Prison officials say Clark County coroner's officials responded to the hospital, and an autopsy was planned.
