SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — A Bonner County sheriff's officer says the discovery of a suspected explosive device led to a precautionary five-hour closure of a stretch of state Route 200 in north Idaho. The Bonner County Daily Bee reports that authorities found the device while investigating a smoldering grass fire along the highway yesterday.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is considering a request to expand a wolf- and coyote-shooting derby in east-central Wyoming next January. Idaho For Wildlife wants to double the area of last winter's derby. The BLM says the group needs a permit because it's considered a competitive event with prizes.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A third person is filing a legal claim against the Idaho Department of Juvenile Correction, claiming he was sexually abused in 2009 by two employees of a detention center in Nampa. An attorney says the boy was 16 when he was sexually abused in 2009. A spokesman for the Idaho Department of Juvenile Correction said he couldn't comment on pending litigation.

NEW YORK (AP) — The parent companies of the Supervalu and Albertsons supermarkets say they have uncovered another breach of their computer networks, potentially compromising data from consumers. The companies say that in late August or early September, malicious software was installed on networks that process credit and debit card transactions at some of their stores.
