NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Firefighters say dozens of animals were killed and injured in a fire at a North Las Vegas home. Capt. Cedric Williams says a man who was inside was hospitalized in stable condition. Williams says the owner reported there were 90 to 100 animals in the home. Officials estimated last night that about 30 dogs had died, but Williams said those numbers may have changed.

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — North Las Vegas might have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in back pay and legal costs to a police officer fired in 2007 after a complaint about a parking ticket. Attorney Adam Levine tells the Review-Journal he thinks the final award to Timothy Frabbiele could be $500,000. The board ruled last week that the city violated labor practices by blocking Frabbiele from contesting his firing.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas marijuana growing operation was busted after police said its operator led them to it through his YouTube videos. Police say Jason Pelletier was arrested Friday after an anonymous tipster notified them about the videos. The videos walk viewers through an area filled with what appears to be marijuana plants.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A federal judge will not block the release of oil and gas leases in Nevada that critics say will be used for hydraulic fracturing that could cause more environmental damage than the BLM admits. Judge Miranda Du ruled she has no authority to grant opponents' request for an emergency order to prevent the BLM from issuing the leases.
