BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Dakota Wolf threw a 15-yard touchdown pass and ran in the final go-ahead score to lift Campbell to a 34-24 win over Valparaiso in a Pioneer League opener Saturday.
In a game that featured seven lead changes, Campbell (1-3, 1-0) took control with a six-play, 56-yard drive late in the third quarter capped by Wolf's 7-yard TD scramble to make it 27-24. The Camels sealed the win with a Luke Hill interception in the fourth quarter that set up a 23-yard touchdown run by DeShawn Jones.
Wolf finished 9 of 15 for 108 yards and added 58 yards rushing on nine carries. Jones had 83 yards on 11 carries.
Lehman was 20 of 37 for 337 yards and two touchdowns, including a 69-yard strike to Tanner Kuramata, for Valparaiso (1-3, 0-1). The Crusaders outgained Campbell in total offense 489 yards to 404.
