SARTELL, Minn. (AP) — Sartell High School has observed a moment of silence in memory of a 2014 graduate who was found slain in Moorhead this week.

Tom Bearson was a freshman at North Dakota State University. His death has been ruled a homicide.

The St. Cloud Times (http://on.sctimes.com/1t58G3x ) reports there was a moment of silence in his honor Friday night before the Sabers' football game against Grand Rapids. A message from the 18-year-old's family was read over the public address system, saying they're deeply touched by the love and support from the Sartell community.

Sartell players wore the initials "TB" on their helmets and students collected donations for a memorial fund.

A funeral Mass for Bearson will be held Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell with visitation set for Sunday.
