SARTELL, Minn. (AP) — Sartell High School has observed a moment of silence in memory of a 2014 graduate who was found slain in Moorhead this week.

Tom Bearson was a freshman at North Dakota State University. His death has been ruled a homicide.

The St. Cloud Times ( ) reports there was a moment of silence in his honor Friday night before the Sabers' football game against Grand Rapids. Sartell players wore the initials "TB" on their helmets and students collected donations for a memorial fund.

A funeral Mass for Bearson will be held Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell with visitation set for Sunday.
