WINDSOR, Colo. (AP) — A library district in Windsor has stopped banning concealed weapons after its policy was challenged by a gun-rights group.
The Coloradoan reports (http://noconow.co/YqPswS ) that the Clearview Library District board voted unanimously Thursday to change its policy. The library still bans the open carry of weapons but not concealed weapons with a permit.
Last month, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners told the district to change its weapons policy or face a legal challenge.
The demand came after Windsor resident Erika Sattler was told on an Aug. 20 visit that she couldn't carry a concealed weapon. State law does not permit libraries to ban concealed weapons.
