CHICAGO (AP) — Rookies Oscar Lindberg and Anthony Duclair scored in the first period and J.T. Miller and Marek Hrivik connected 2:40 apart late in the third in the New York Rangers' 4-1 exhibition victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night.

Henrik Lundqvist made 15 saves for New York (1-1-0) before allowing rookie Dennis Rasmussen's goal off a rebound at 9:37 of the second period. Cedrick Desjardins replaced Lundqvist after the goal, and stopped all 15 shots he faced.

Corey Crawford made 25 saves for Chicago (1-2-0).

The Blackhawks used the top two forward lines that might be on the ice when they open the season at Dallas on Oct. 9, but showed little consistent offensive spark.

Captain Jonathan Toews centered Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa. Richards, who signed as a free agent in July after the Rangers bought out his contract, was between wingers Brandon Saad and Patrick Kane. Chicago's top three defensemen — Norris Trophy winner Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook and Niklas Hjalmarsson — also played.
