PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh-area substitute school teacher has been jailed on charges he shared child pornography on Twitter, but tells police he was able to keep his "fetish" separate from his job.
The Allegheny County district attorney's office says 25-year-old Matthew Sokol of Pittsburgh told them that he didn't take the photographs or have sex with any of the children depicted.
He also denied taking pictures of the 7th and 8th grade students he taught as a substitute in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District just south of the city, although county detectives say the pictures he was caught sending contain children of that age group, down to 8 years old.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Sokol, who was charged and arrested Tuesday.
He faces a preliminary hearing Oct. 7.
