LAS VEGAS (AP) — An upcoming ballot vote on whether Nevada needs an intermediate appeals court will be the topic of a public panel discussion at the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
The law school's Public Interest Law Association will host the 5:15 p.m. Monday event about ballot Question 1.
The measure would authorize amending the Nevada Constitution to create a three-judge state court of appeals to hear and decide some cases before they reach the busy seven-member Nevada Supreme Court.
Supreme Court Justice Nancy Saitta, Law School Associate Dean Anne Traum and Las Vegas attorney Cliff Marcek will discuss the proposal and take questions from the audience.
