KATOWICE, Poland (AP) — Host Poland came from a set down to beat three-time defending champion Brazil 3-1 in Sunday's final and win the volleyball world championship title.

Mateusz Mika led Poland with 22 points and Mariusz Wlazly chipped in with 14 as the host won 18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-22 in front of more than 12,000 raucous fans at Spodek Arena, including President Bronislaw Komorowski.

Brazil's game mainly centered around Wallace de Souza and Ricardo Lucarelli, who finished with 22 points apiece.

It is Poland's second world title after also winning in 1974 in Mexico. Brazil won the title in 2002, 2006 and 2010.
