UNDATED (AP) — Authorities say an armed man has surrendered after barricading himself inside a home on the Fort Hall Reservation in southeast Idaho. The Idaho State Journal reports that the 18-hour standoff ended about 9:30 p.m. MDT yesterday when the suspect surrendered to officers outside the house. Authorities say that during the confrontation, the gunman had fired several times at officers, but there were no immediate reports of any injuries.

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (AP) — A Mountain Home airman has been sentenced to life in prison for the March 2013 death of his 22-month-old stepson. KBOI-TV reports 20-year-old Richard Laubach was sentenced Friday to life in prison for the first-degree murder of Joseph Graham III. Prosecutors say Laubach and the boy were home alone on March 12, 2013, when the boy suffered head injuries and broken legs and bruises.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — The National Park Service has approved a plan to make infrastructure improvements at the historic Lamar Buffalo Ranch in Yellowstone National Park. The planned improvements to various energy production systems at the ranch aim to conserve water and energy and reduce waste. For instance, one project involves installing a new micro hydro turbine.

UNDATED (AP) __ Rangers in Glacier National Park say they have recovered the body of an 18-year-old Idaho man who died in an accidental fall. Rangers say were notified Friday morning that Brandon Luis Avalos of St. Maries had fallen in an area along Going-to-the-Sun Road. Officials believe Avalos climbed over guard rails and fell about 100 feet.
