CAPE CANAVERAL (AP) — A SpaceX cargo ship is on its way to the International Space Station with an expected arrival on Tuesday. Part of the 5,000 pounds of supplies is the first 3-D printer for astronauts in orbit. The SpaceX Falcon 9 thundered into Florida's pre-dawn sky early Sunday morning. The 3-D printer is a technology demonstrator.
CANADENSIS, Pa. (AP) — State police have reaffirmed their determination to find the suspect who killed a trooper at a barracks in a remote part of northeastern Pennsylvania. Eric Frein (freen), who is now on the FBI's Most Wanted list, has remained elusive since the deadly ambush. Authorities have largely shut down the area where he lived with his parents.
WASHINGTON (AP) — White House security has been stepped up after a man with a knife jumped the fence and made it inside the front door. The Secret Service will also conduct a comprehensive review of the incident which happened just minutes after the President and his daughters left for Camp David. The president has expressed his continued confidence in the Secret Service.
POLLOCK PINES, Calif. (AP) — Dangerous conditions are hampering the efforts of assessment teams to find out just how many structures have been damaged or destroyed by a raging Northern California wildfire. The blaze began one week ago, and a man accused of starting the blaze is being held on $10 million bail. The fire is threatening thousands of structures, a key University of California, Berkeley research station.
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The spokesman for Afghanistan's president says that the nation's two presidential candidates plan to sign a power sharing deal today to end a dispute over their runoff election. The deal follows accusations of fraud in the June runoff vote. The deal would be a victory for U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who first got the candidates to agree in principle to share power during a July visit to Afghanistan.
