It wasn't clear if Carlena Walker and Preston Caudle would face criminal charges stemming from the remains of what Walker told police was her 8-week miscarriage last October. However, both were arrested on other charges.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials with Nevada Republican Assemblyman Cresent Hardy's congressional campaign say they plan to keep fundraising amid accusations from Democrats that Hardy's breaking the rules of a blackout period. A spokesman with the Hardy campaign pointed to an attorney general's opinion from 2001 that says lawmakers can fundraise for federal races even in state blackout periods because federal law supersedes state law.
