LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police questioning a couple about a shooting in their Las Vegas neighborhood say they found the remains of a miscarried fetus in a jar in the freezer, and a stolen gun and about a half-pound of marijuana hidden by a child's bassinet. It wasn't clear if Carlena Walker and Preston Caudle would face criminal charges stemming from the remains of what Walker told police was her 8-week miscarriage last October. However, both were arrested on other charges.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Real estate investors in Las Vegas who have been picking up foreclosed property for pennies on the dollar claimed a victory in a new Nevada Supreme Court ruling. The high court ruled that a super priority lien held by a homeowners association can extinguish a first deed of trust on a property.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas say a neighbor who fired an assault rifle to break up a pre-dawn altercation in an apartment courtyard was shot and killed by a fleeing gunman. That man was later arrested after a several-hour standoff with SWAT officers. No names were immediately made public.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials with Nevada Republican Assemblyman Cresent Hardy's congressional campaign say they plan to keep fundraising amid accusations from Democrats that Hardy's breaking the rules of a blackout period. A spokesman with the Hardy campaign pointed to an attorney general's opinion from 2001 that says lawmakers can fundraise for federal races even in state blackout periods because federal law supersedes state law.
