West Nile virus blamed for Lee County death

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi State Department of Health says a Lee County woman has died from West Nile virus.

The death is the fourth from the virus reported in Mississippi this year.

Health officials did not identify the victim.

The disease often is transmitted by mosquitoes.
